Question 1 :  Is the gogopal GPS navigator easy to use??

Yes! gogopal is designed to be easy to use even if you have never used a GPS device before. Simply select a destination, click “Destination”, and you are on your way. A Quick Start Guide is also provided in the box for easy reference.

 

Question 2 : What accessories does the gogopal GPS navigator come with?

The gogopal comes with a full range of accessories in the box, including accessories that are usually optional for other brands (like house charger and pouch). No more paying for optional accessories!

 

Question 3 : Does the gogopal GPS navigator warn me of speed camera zones?

Yes! This feature is scheduled for release in 3rd quarter of 2011. You will get this new feature when you update your maps then.

 

Question 4 : I’m in Singapore. Do you have any retailers that stock gogopal?

gogopal will be launched in Singapore in due course. However, you may still purchase your gogopal from our online partners for delivery to your doorstep.

 

Question 5 : I just bought a gogopal, but when I tried to register my device, it is returns an error 504 H/W key is prohibited from use or S/W key is invalid.

Every gogopal unit is authenticated beforehand. You do not need to authenticate it again.

To view your authenticated product’s serial keys, please log on to www.speednavi.com. Your Login ID and Password is GGPXXYYY, where XX is the model series (43 for Q4.3, 50 for Q5.0), YYY is the last 3 digit of your unit’s serial number (001, 002, etc). For example, if you own the gogopal Q5.0 with serial number 5010000000000001, your login is GGP50001. The password will be identical to the ID. You are encouraged to change your password after your first login.

If you own a gogopal M38 unit, please contact us to obtain your Login ID and password.

 

Question 6 : Should I search for my destination in POI Name or Address?

If you are searching for an address with a road name, please use the Address function. Select your state at the lower left corner of the screen, and type in your road name only. Do not type in house number, state or other parts of the address.


For example, if you are searching for 38C-4 Jalan Radin Anum, Kuala Lumpur, just search for “Jalan Radin Anum” to find your results. Do not type in 38C-4 or Kuala Lumpur. You will be able to select your house number after selecting the road.


For most other searches including shopping malls, restaurants and area names, please use POI Name for your search. If you are searching for Singapore postcodes, please use the postcode search function.
 

 

Question7 : I am able to run the gogopal navigation system but it is not functioning properly. It only shows where I am, but not telling me where to go.

After you have found the location that you want to go, you must tap on the “Destn.” button for navigation to start. When the route calculation is completed, the route will be highlighted with a red lining together with voice instructions.

 

Question 8 : How often is the map update? What is included in the map update?

We release map updates every 6-7 months. This includes map update as well as navigation software update. Map and software comes together in a single update, there are no separate updates for maps.


If there are new software features introduced in future updates, you will also have these features once you’ve completed your map update.

 

Question 9 : How much is the update fee? Do I have to pay every time I do an update?

Your gogopal comes with a 1-year free map update period. You can purchase 1 more year of map updates for RM45 after the free update period has expired. Once the map update fee is paid, you will be provided with a new software key to extend your update period.


Your gogopal will continue to function normally even if the map is not updated.
 

 

Question 10 : I am having a technical problem with my gogopal. Who can I approach for help?

Certain brands of window tints are known to block GPS signals, which prevent your gogopal from getting a satellite fix. This is due to the limitation of window tint technology. To bypass your window tint, try getting a satellite fix before getting into the car.


If you do not have window tints but your gogopal is still unable to get a fix, try resetting the GPS by pressing the reset button is at the middle back of the GPS. Please contact us if the problem persists.
If your battery is not charging, please check the LED light of the charger. If there is no light, the charger may not be functioning. Please contact us if this is the case. Also contact us if there is light but it is not recharging.


Please contact us if there is a white line on your screen.


If your touch screen’s calibration is off, please do the recalibration in Settings> Info > Calibration (from the menu before you run the SpeedNavi system). If this did not solve the issue, please contact us.

 

Question 11 : How long is the warranty period? What does the warranty cover?

 gogopal GPS products are warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the following periods:
-    12 months for GPS unit
-    2 months for accessories and non-electronic parts

 

Question 12 : How do I update my gps?

 You can update your gogopal from our website, or you may call or visit us for assistance for your map update.

Question 13 : I downloaded the latest SpeedNavi but the S/W key and License key are invalid.

Every gogopal unit is authenticated beforehand. Therefore, your S/W key and License Key are already registered in your designated Speednavi account.


To view your Speednavi account, please log on to www.speednavi.com. Your Login ID and Password is GGPXXYYY, where XX is the model series (43 for Q4.3, 50 for Q5.0), YYY is the last 3 digit of your unit’s serial number (001, 002, etc). For example, if you own the gogopal Q5.0 with serial number 5010000000000001, your login is GGP50001. The password will be identical to the ID. You are encouraged to change your password after your first login.

Question 14 : I have already downloaded the latest update and have entered the S/W serial and license key stated in the manual/SpeedNavi website but it won’t let me register.

The S/W serial and License key can only be used for a designated version of SpeedNavi, and may not be compatible with later versions of SpeedNavi. To activate the latest version of SpeedNavi, you will have to update the S/W serial and license key as well. You can do so by logging into the SpeedNavi website at www.speednavi.com and updating your S/W serial and license key in the “My SpeedNavi” page.

 

Question 15 : How do I upload other country’s map into gogopal?

At the moment, gogopal only supports SpeedNavi with Malaysia and Singapore maps.
